The 2005 Herpetology Weekend will be held at Natural Bridge State Park on Fri-Sun, April 22-24. Natural Bridge State Park is just over 2 hours from Cincinnati on the Mountain Parkway in Eastern Kentucky. Herpetology weekend is an annual spring event in the red-river gorge area, surrounding Natural Bridge State Park.
Learn about nature's most misunderstood critters! Experienced herpetologists will lead field trips to the Red River Gorge to observe reptiles and amphibians in their native habitat.
The following is the schedule of events. All speaker events will be at the "Activities Center"
* All Field Trips as indicated are on Saturday, April 23, 2005*
The Registration fee is of $5 per adult and $2 ages 12-18 includes all hikes, evening speakers, and admission to the Kentucky Reptile Zoo. (children under 12 FREE)
*Collection is prohibited*

Natural Bridge State Park and the surrounding Red River Gorge region is in a picturesque, protected region of eastern Kentucky. Typically, the Greater Cincinnati Herpetological Society has a small table set up advertising the club. Members have a great time exploring the region and looking for herps! Make sure to check out the Kentucky Reptile Zoo while you are there!
Directions from Cincinnati are as follows:
I-75 S for approx. 74 miles (just past Lexington)
Merge onto I-64 E via the exit on the LEFT toward LEXINGTON/ASHLAND (23 miles)
Merge onto BERT T COMBS MOUNTAIN PKWY E via EXIT 98 toward CAMPTON/PRESTONSBURG. (32.5 miles)
Take the KY-11 exit- EXIT 33- toward SLADE/BEATTYVILLE.
Turn right on Kentucky 11, pass : Kentucky Reptile Zoo
, for 1.1 miles and look for the park entrances on the right.
