August, 2008 Meeting:   Dean & Nick Alessandrini:   California Desert Herping

In April 2008, Dean Alessandrini and son Nick visited SW California and spent several days and nights combing the deserts for herps. Herp highlights included chuckwallas, a red diamondback rattlesnake, and the never-ending quest for the lightning fast "red racer" Besides herps, the trip ending up including 3 stops by police (one with a full car search and some very serious and disturbing accusations), and a very "interesting" trip to Venice beach. Dean and Nick will share their experiences and stories during the August meeting.
