Per popular demand, we will cooridinate the Snake Road Trip for September 25, 26, & 27.

The Consensus is that lodging for the Snake Road Trip is most commonly at The Pine Hills Campground or at a hotel in Jonesboro (The Lincoln Motel) http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/shawnee/recreation/camping/pinehills/
The most popular route is I-71S to louisville, I-64W to I-57, I-57 S to Rte 146 W to Rte 3 N to Rte 2N
Items that you will want to take with you include: Camera, Tent, Sleeping Bag, Food (not many places to eat/obtain food), rain gear, flashlights or headlamps, field guide, water or beverages for hiking, backpack, binoculars, ankle-high boots for protection, pencil and paper for recording findings/locations, clothing condusive to hiking.
PLEASE BE SURE TO LEAVE ALL TONGS, HOOKS, PILLOWCASES, ETC AT HOME AS IT IS ILLEGAL TO COLLECT AND CARRY THESE ITEMS AT SNAKE ROAD!!
